5G Now in India

In India, 5G services are now accessible after a lengthy wait. Soon after the introduction of 5G at IMC 2022, Airtel announced the availability of its 5G services in eight major cities. Reliance Jio has started beta testing its 5G service with a restricted number of its consumers in four locations.

There are specific requirements needed to operate 5G on a smartphone, regardless of the network service provider supplying the service. Notably, in order to operate it, a smartphone must support 5G. It’s interesting to note that Jio and Airtel both stated that purchasing a new SIM card is not required in order to use 5G services. However, the 4G SIM needs to be updated.

The following is a list of brands that support 5G on smartphones:

Phones with vanilla Android or Google Pixel

How to increase smartphone internet speed to 5G

Increase in Speed

The smartphone is ready to use 5G once all the settings and procedures indicated above have been completed. Now, all a user needs to do is go anywhere that offers 5G services. The smartphone will automatically switch to the 5G network as soon as it discovers the 5G network nearby. A smartphone is 5G enabled after a 5G logo appears there in place of the 4G or LTE logo at the top. The user can then quickly check the speed by going to a speed test app.

However, a user’s location and the region they are in may affect the 5G’s speed.
